Before starting Math Solution Tutoring in 2007, I taught Algebra through AP Calculus and AP Statistics for 13 years at Ransom Everglades School, one of the top-ranked college-prep school in the country. I have seen A LOT of tutoring in my day! When I decided to leave the classroom to start a family and tutoring requests started coming, I KNEW that I could offer a skilled, efficient, insightful, and knowledgeable service that was not readily available in the community.
Committed to education excellence both in and out of the classroom, I have served as a Clinical Supervisor for student teachers at Florida International University, grader for the IB Math exam, and dedicated math tutor with Casa Valentina, a home for aged-out foster youth. Currently, I review article submissions to the Mathematics Teacher, the secondary school publication of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and am an active alumna of the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program (Istanbul, Turkey).
I can be found cuddling up with my two preschoolers, enjoying a good workout, or presenting at professional conferences about social justice and educational issues.
I received a B.S. in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Vanderbilt University, a M.S. in Secondary Math Education from Florida International University and have been a certified teacher for over 20 years.
