Ms. Lockhart taught Algebra through AP Calculus and AP Statistics for 13 years at Ransom Everglades School, one of the top-ranked college-prep schools in the country. In 2007, she envisioned a tutoring experience that is grounded in integrity, built on expertise and skill, and supported by a team approach (student, parents, teacher, and tutor). Math Solution Tutoring was born.
Committed to education excellence both in and out of the classroom, Ms. Lockhart has served as a Clinical Supervisor for student teachers at Florida International University, grader for the IB Math exam, and dedicated math tutor with Casa Valentina, a home for aged-out foster youth. In addition, she reviews articles for Mathematics Teacher, the secondary school publication of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and is an active alumna of the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Program (Istanbul, Turkey). Ms. Lockhart regularly presents at professional conferences about effective math pedagogy and race-conscious classrooms.
Ms. Lockhart received a B.S. in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Vanderbilt University, a M.S. in Secondary Math Education from Florida International University and has been a Florida certified teacher for over 20 years.
